starting fresh?

I don't know if I will follow through with this writing more than once every 6 months thing, but I might.

I hate this!

*sigh* I hate going to parties and trying to mingle and meet people.  I'm so tired of that, so over it.  Like it's fine for a friend level, but not so much on a "hey there's someone special I want to introduce you to" level.  So awkward!  Terrible!  I clam up in those social situations, and I just wish that the people there could see who I really am and know the things about me that my friends know.  You, my friends, know that I'm silly, goofy, loving, pretty nerdy, and a Christian and that these things make me who I am.  You think I'm special and somehow stand-out.  And people I just first meet only know that I'm quiet.  That's a no-win.  This is never really going to come out differently, lol.  It is time for a change of scenery.

Coloring for Control Freaks

Today I went garage sale shopping and found some cool things including a vintage Chi Omega button that has little owls and says "Chi O's are Cool!"  Yesss...  But I think my favorite purchase of the day is a coloring book about India, copyright 1947, new condition, never been colored in, but I think I know why...Okay, so here's an excerpt from its educational pages.

"The land of India is one of the world's greatest producers of tea.  The women in this picture are gathering the tea leaves in one of India's tea fields.  About 40 per cent of the entire world's supply of tea comes from India."

Okay, cool.  But then, next to that, in smaller print, it reads:
"Color the sky blue, the hills purple, the tea field green, and make red dots for berries.  The baskets are yellow.  The picker in the distance is dressed in white, and the boys' shirt is red.  The first lady wears a red sari, gold beads, a yellow blouse and skirt, and a red waistband.  Color her jewelery orange."

Like, what??  Coloring, where your only creativity is color choice, I mean you're coloring inside lines someone else drew, and this book thinks they need to dictate the correct colors to you.  Hilarious and amazing.  It's so OCD!  And every page is like this.  One of my best finds, ever.

Wishful Thinking

Duncan Sheik - Wishful Thinking

Listen to the waves,
Everything communicates
Will it ever be
Anything more than wishful thinking?

Oh no there you go
Looked away and missed the show
how much wasted time
Will you survive?

Feel the blades of grass
How it brings you back
it will always be
Only as green as you can see

Oh no there you go
Looked away and missed the show
how much wasted time
Will you survive?
Oh yeah fooled again,
I don't know how and I don't know when
Not much else to blame
But wishful thinking

Little breakdowns
In coastal towns.
They come suddenly
Crashing over you.
They come easily.
I'm falling through the skies
And frozen places

Oh no there you go
Looked away and missed the show
how much wasted time
Will you survive?
Oh yeah fooled again,
I don't know how and I don't know when
Not much else to blame
But wishful thinking

And I try to realize
That I needn't look any further
the whole of the universe
Is plain to see
And I try not to rely
On another world or the future
The whole of the universe is a mystery

And it gets me over
Yeah, it gets me over
and it gets me over
Yeah, it gets me over
